New Revolution Supplier?

Post by DAOlsen » Fri Dec 23, 2016 1:29 am

It appears that the Revolution equipment line is making a return.

Does anyone have any additional info on this?

I got this from another forum.

Now being made by a company called Precision RC. According to their ad in the latest GR, they're the ones who designed and manufactured the original TE, so "same stuff, different company name." Kinda like a lot of narrow gauge railroad reorganizations. (Ever wonder why some railroads changed from "XYZ Railroad" to XYZ Railway?" The EBT's parent company reorganized from the "Rockhill Iron & Coal Co" to the "Rockhill Coal & Iron Co." Or vice versa, I forget. Anyway, I digress.) Suffice to say the folks making the stuff are intimately familiar with it and its history.

From the web site, it looks so far to be a straight reboot picking up where they left off. No new sounds announced yet, though they list the USB programming interface as "in stock." There's no mention of software to download and program, but all in good time, I presume.
Later, K
Good luck to them!

If you click on the support button it lists the downloadable sound files.

Links to the sound file downloads do not work.
There is also a note on the USB Programmer page saying that it does not support Crest(TM) products. They are working to find a solution.

wow, this is the most interesting news for Large Scale in years.

Ivar, I doubt that there will be a compatibility issue, only a denial of warranty for previously purchased components, it appears to me. I know that they have posted the manual that I created for Aristo-Craft when the Revolution was newly released. So it appears to be the Crest System. It would be suicide to not be backwards compatible.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to hear that Nathan will still be associated with the system. I hope that they are successful with their venture.

Asked him by email.
Answer,: All the old Revolution will work with the new one, but the sound and uppgrading will not work with the old Rev.
