L.S. Mikado tender circuit board repairs

Post by Bob Dunlop » Sun Oct 01, 2017 11:08 am

Hi Everyone

Has anybody managed to successfully carry out repairs/component replacement, on the tender circuit boards in the Mikado tender ?
Would you have any idea what components are most likely to fail ?
Mine will not charge the battery or power up at all and I would like to restore it to operational condition without going to the hassle of a full regular r/c installation .

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure its the circuit board? Could be a battery gone bad. Later RJD

Thanks R.J.

I've tried hooking up a temporary battery box with 6 x alkaline AA cells just to power up the circuitry but all seems dead, no lights on the control panel or responses from servo motors either in manual mode or r/c function mode.
I didn't want to buy a replacement NiMh battery only to find out that that didn't work either.

Has anyone else experienced a total electronics failure ?

Cheers

Bob
