AristoCraft demise, "during the great recession" ?

Post by Doug Cannon » Thu Sep 14, 2017 10:09 pm

Excerpt from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G_scale ;

"..Aristo-Craft (REA) made two scales during its run: 1:29 and the “Classic” series, 1:24 (some models were closer to 1:32 scale), before going out of business during the great recession...."

I did not realize that the "great recession", lasted to end of 2013.

Now if the presumed 'youngster' (aka people who know nothing or prefer not to extend recognition of anything, previous to their date of birth) who submitted that piece of G-gauge history is referring to 2008 ... I still will say I did not realize it lasted into 2013 !!

Bad writing. I think Lewis may have said once that lingering effects from the Great Recession played a part. But, yes, you are correct. The Great Recession did not go until 2013.

Doug, that was the 'great depression'. We don't use that term any more. At first they were called Panics, then Depressions, now Recessions. They are all bad times.
