I fitted a pair of USAT power trucks to mine after the gears stripped on one of the Aristo trucks. It took a little simple surgery but it works fine.

Ed Headington replaced his with the same ones used in the FA etc because he felt the 40's drew too much power .

The motor blocks for locomotives like the FA-1, RS-3, etc. are available on-line from the Bachmann Trains Parts Department. Search the locomotive list for the recently released Eggliner parts.

Yup, the two GP-40's that I run most, coupled together, both have the FA type motorblocks. Run a long time on a single battery charge, and pull just fine.
